The Affordable Care Act (ACA) and subsequent health care reforms have had tremendous impact on expanding coverage and improving health care for children. California, in particular, has been a leader in embracing the reforms of the ACA. Children in California have reaped the benefits of expanded coverage options, enrollment simplifications, free preventive services, outreach and enrollment activities, and other important provisions of the law. In many ways, the ACA bolstered momentum within California to finish the job of covering all California children.
Our new report, “The Affordable Care Act and Children’s Coverage in California: Our Progress and Our Future,†offers a look into the incredible advancements California has made in health care reform and future actions we must take to continue to support a healthy future for all California children. Our California and Federal Action Agendas lay out concrete recommendations for advancing children’s coverage and care.
