Number of Young Adults Gaining Insurance Due to the ACA Now Tops 3 Million

Issue brief providing recent survey findings by the National Center for Health Statistics that the extension of dependent health coverage up to age 26, a provision of the ACA, continues to lead to greater insurance coverage among young adults. From September 2010 to December 2011, the percentage of adults 19-25 with insurance coverage increased from 64.4% to 74.8% which translates to over 3 million additional young adults with coverage.
