State Budget

California is facing a tremendous state budget deficit for the upcoming 2008-2009 fiscal year. As part of his plan to address the shortfall, Governor Schwarzenegger has proposed $1.1 billion in health care cuts that target programs that serve as the bedrock of the state's health system. The governor's proposed cuts would have a devastating impact on L.A. County where nearly one in four residents lack coverage, and where nearly one-third of the state’s Medi-Cal population resides.

Learn more about the impact of the proposed cuts across Los Angeles County Assembly and Senate Districts.
