Health Behaviors
In the past ten years, overall health status has improved in L.A. County. However, health behaviors such as poor nutrition, lack of physical activity and smoking often result in a higher occurrence of chronic diseases such as cardiovascular disease, diabetes and cancer. These resulting health issues present numerous challenges, as people are living longer with these conditions and have an increased need for medical care and disease management programs.
